On January 4th, a group of us gathered at Keystone Ancient Forest for a combination Art Hike/Soundwalk. Liz Dueck invited me to lead some listening exercises while we hiked through the winter forest before stopping and drawing/sketching what we heard. We spent time tuning into different layers; the oldest sounds we heard, the sounds that made us feel safest. We listened at different heights and in different directions. It’s always so grounding to watch people find their own language for listening.
